Auburn Communications Van |
|
The Communications Van, a modified 1983 Chevrolet Busette, was purchased with funds donated by the community including a $17,000.00 donation by Wendell Robie. The vehicle was delivered to the Placer County Office of Emergency Services on July 1st 1983. Since it's activation it has been carefully maintained and kept well equipped by the Communications Unit. Over the years the Van has logged countless hours and miles in serving the citizens of Placer County and the State of California, including missions to Yosemite and the Sierra Buttes.

The Comm Van functions as a mobile communications center allowing communications with searchers in the field, Sheriff's dispatch and allied agencies. |
