Communications Unit Membership

The Communications Unit welcomes applicants for membership.

Membership requirements:
  • A resident of Placer County or an adjacent county
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Continually meet participation requirements
    		• Some Members


    Prospective members are invited to attend a Communications Unit meeting which is held the 3rd Monday of each month, except December. The meeting is held at 1900 hours at the SAR Office in the new Auburn Justice Center located on Richardson Avenue. At the meeting an application may be completed and submitted. The application will be reviewed by the Communications Unit Management along with the Sheriff's Department. The prospective member is asked to attend 3 meetings after which the Unit Membership will vote on accepting the new member.
